Medusa
Roisin Crowley Linton third show is an inspiring, seductive, provocative and punk-rock show about sexual violence, the NHS, police and more, in her trademark autobiographical comedy, poetry and cabaret style, she shares her experience working for the NHS during the pandemic (Hold the claps for the end, please) as a sexual assault crisis worker - an unexpected turn of events which changed her life and perspective on the world in brilliant and terrible ways. Roisin’s unique voice finds joy, laughter and irony in the darkest of situations.
Teenage Kicks
Teenage Kicks is a autobiographical journey via Roisins signature blend of comedy and gut wretching poetry, now with the added possibilité of burlesque. This show explores working with vulnerable teenagers, seeing yourself reflected in them whilst trying to be some sort of role model and working out how you fit into a world that battered you down in your younger years, as a proper real life grown up.
An empowering and raw look at the sexual violence that young people experience, and how we can learn to give ourselves the empathy we give others.

Be More, Do Better But Don’t Change
Roisin’s debut solo show that toured to Prague Fringe, Edinburgh Fringe at Underbelly and received acclaim from a national tour.
A unique blend of achingly honest poetry, side-splitting stand-up and personal story telling about romantic love and why we prioritise it above all else. Roisin is bored of pretending that falling in love is fun. It's boring and sweaty and embarrassing and tragic and she thinks it's her civic duty to talk about it to anyone who will listen. An exploration of all kinds of love, and heartbreak - and how the non-romantic kind can hurt the most.
Roisin has also performed as an actress in theatre and short films, performing in venues such as Live Theatre, Northern Stage and fringe theatres across the U.K.
She has also worked for companies and events as a presenter and interviewer for digital media and social media platforms - including interviewing greats such as Grandmaster Flash and Sister Sledge (See videos page for some great interviews!)
Young Director @ Tobacco Factory Theatres
Over a two-week summer school, Roisin was mentored by director Emma Williams, they worked 13-19 year olds to devise their own brand new piece of theatre based on Roald Dahl characters which was then performed at the Wardrobe Theatre.
This was an incredible opportunity as an emerging artist, and it was a pleasure to work alongside the Young Writer, Designer and Producer - Rosie Gailor, Lydia Higginson (Made My Wardrobe) and Ethan Duffy. They have all thrived in their respective industries, this project was a brilliant launching pad for all of us, as well as an unforgettable summer holiday project with a brilliant and diverse group of young people.
Roisin continued to work with Tobacco Factory as a director for their youth theatre.
Other Work
Self Love Club (Feb 2020)
A radical burlesque and circus cabaret created with the innovative, female led Lavrak Circus. Roisin has hosted many cabarets with Lavrak over the years, from performing in the back of a club on Stokes Croft, to a full house of 500 festival revellers with many more who couldn’t get a seat in the big top to the hottest cabaret at Shambala Festival.
Self Love Club was particularly special because of the beginners burlesque course that ran before this show, led by Roisin and Nix Pretlove, a beginners burlesque troupe was created, of people with all different gender identities and expressions, varied dance or performance experience. It was a trauma informed, queer positive and body neutral space where we were able to give ourselves permission to explore sexuality and expression, whilst building a community. The beginners burlesque troupe joined our professional artists for The Self Love Club Cabaret and made it an incredibly special show.
Here is a link to BBC coverage of the troupe.
Sophie Hates Theatre
Sophie Hates Theatre is a funny, charming exploration into diverse experiences of theatre, seen through the eyes of two members of one family. The production uses stories from childhood, teenagerhood and adulthood to create something you (and hopefully Sophie) will enjoy. It critically examines the pleasures and problems of theatre using comedy, flash dance, manifesto, informal storytelling and having a chat.
Imagine the Von Trapps, but if there were only two of them, they engaged in critical discourse, were uniquely charming and disagreed more. So… nothing like the Von Trapps then.

Not Your Victim
After receiving an incredible commission from ARC, Stockton as part of their Make New Work Programme, Roisin will be embarking on her most ambitious show to date - responding to the provocation #Women - She Was Walking Home, she will be creating a cabaret/theatre/circus show with a brilliant ensemble cast and creating a beginners burlesque troupe, all performers will have lived experience of sexual violence. Roisin will be the host, bringing a narrative and theatricality that isn’t typically built into cabaret shows and a raucousness and personality that comes from cabaret into a traditional theatre space. A queer riot embedded with Fosse choreography interlaced with the safety of sisterhood. The show will premier at ARC on 15th February as their new season launch.
This is not really a show about sexual violence or abuse, it is a show about what happens after, and the road to recovery. Because recovery does exist, even when it feels like you have no idea how to get there. Wherever you are, at some point you have to get home.
